Title: Editorial Assistant to CEO/Agent
Description: Seeking ambitious go-getter with strong interest in book publishing for this entry-level position. Significant opportunities for promotion and advancement. You will work alongside the agent/CEO as he signs clients, edits proposals, and negotiates deals. You will also assist him in curating, developing and producing select film/TV projects. In addition to reading, assessing, and editing proposals and servicing authors, you will be responsible for his calendar, answering his phone, assisting with miscellaneous projects at his direction, and handling certain pan-agency administrative duties: updating internal databases, processing royalty statements, maintaining internal reference documents, among other administrative tasks. Positive energy and impeccable writing, editing, and critical thinking skills a must. BIPOC and LGTBQI+ identifying candidates strongly encouraged to apply. Salary is $47,500-$52,000 depending on experience with benefits.
Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree
- Critical thinking and exemplary writing skills a must
- Excellent people and communication skills
- Very detail-oriented
- Keen editorial eye
- Knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, and other Microsoft 365 programs
- Office/admin experience is not necessary but highly valued
- Publishing and/or agency experience is not necessary but highly valued
